Promotional Videos | Sherwood Park Videography

When I first dipped into the world of videography I was so intrigued of course by weddings, but also by promotional videos for companies and other photographers around Edmonton and area.

I was lucky enough to start with my sister in law’s company and a fantastic boudoir photographer to get my feet wet and then this past summer I have had the chance to do even more for some local photographers!

But what is a promo video?

A promotional video is a 1-2 minute video that a business can use pretty much however they want. Sharing on Facebook, using as an ad, or as part of their website!

Did you know that youtube and videos are now one of the top ways people search for things, check out products, and videos are the top shared posts on all social media? Well it’s true, don’t you love watching a video instead of reading a blog post (you’re probably not even reading this right now, I bet you skipped right to the videos! If you did read it though, leave some comments about what types of videos you love.. then I know who’s still reading :) )

So far, i LOVE promotional videos. They are fun to do, require lots of brainstorming and meeting great companies. I hope to do many more in the coming year.

For now, here’s Natalie D’Aoust Photography and her baby-riffic video about her newborn studio in Sherwood Park

Heather + Chris Wedding Day | Edmonton Wedding Photography and Videography

This was one of the most beautiful winter weddings we got to be a part of, not only because Heather + Chris are a super fun and amazingly sweet couple, but the day was perfect! Not to terribly cold for a November day and a perfect blanket of fresh snow falling slowly all day long. It was amazing.

I know we’re a little late on this post, so it’s more like a happy anniversary post too! We photographers start to majorly hibernate in winter and often forget about blogging and Facebook, but here it is! A perfect winter day from last November filled with love, warmth, happiness, and a whole lot of snow. From the very beginning of the day we knew it would be a lot of fun, actually from the very time we met Heather + Chris we knew it would be a lot of fun! Their sweet day was so relaxed and so them, we always love a chill bridal party just ready to enjoy their day. Grey attire, our fave, and like I said a whole lotta love from everyone. It was fantastic. Not to mention perfect snow for pictures, what more could we ask for out of a winter wedding day. Take a little peek and wish a very happy first anniversary to Heather + Chris!

30 Days of Gratitude | Sherwood Park + Edmonton Videography

I was always too scared to share this video, never posted about it, never made a big deal of it. This was my first official jump into video. Here’s what I wrote about, over one year ago. And how it turned out.

“Over the month of February I was inspired to take part in a very interesting and unique project. After an online workshop with the amazing Sue Bryce and Hailey Bartholomew about using videos for your business, they challenged photographers and videographers all over the world to take part in this, I couldn’t resist. This project entailed that you bring your camera everywhere, film things EACH DAY that make you smile, and then edit this into a less then 2 minute video. I was so excited to do this as I LOVE video! (and I want to get really, really, really, good at it!)

I have always been a complainer and I think we all have those days and days in a row where life seems to be pretty uneventful, especially in the dreary winter here. This month while I played with filming each day I found a lot of things that make me smile, that I was excited about, and most of all that I was grateful for! I really became appreciative of the life I have and the people who are in it.

Projects like this don’t have to be through video. Daily photo challenges, even on your iPhone, can really make you find things in life that are truly worthwhile and fun again! So, I challenge you! Try a project like this out, its amazing for both skill improvement and general happiness!
