It already seems like January is almost done, but its only been a few weeks since Rebecca and Jereme’s lovely wedding day on Jan 4th! We had such an amazing time with the super welcoming and fun bridal party (they were so excited which makes us SO excited!) and of course the newest married couple of the day were such fun as they are so in love with each other its amazing!
I won’t say much for now, because I have an awesome blog post coming your way real soon about their big day, except we are so blessed to have been a part of this wedding day. Rebecca and Jereme, your bridal party and your families it was SO amazing to get to know you, thank you for including us in your special day! Here are a few more photos for you to check out (I couldn’t narrow it down, so enjoy!!)
This was Rebecca’s face when she found out we were shooting at a Firehall… so amazing right? (it was a total surprise for her! Thanks to her mom!!)
If you have met with us, you know how much we love our products. We have a few canvas’ and just a couple of albums hanging around our house, if you’ve been here you haven’t even seen our personal collection of albums… one every year since we’ve been dating! But this post is all about canvas! To put it simply, we love, love love love, canvas’ as art and decor for our home. We especially love photos on canvas as art for your home! We love our beautiful clients so much, we have a few hanging up in our little living room studio! (Excuse the snowflakes, we like to get a little festive over the holiday’s and just didn’t want to take them down quite yet! As bee said… “It’s still winter you know” when I went to take them down.)
So why would you want canvas for your home? Just because we love it an awful lot doesn’t seem like the best answer to me, and probably not you either. So there are a few legitimate reasons to actually love canvas, here are just a few.
It’s pretty much like turning yourself into art! Our sister in law is a local artist (check her out here!) and we put all over our home her beautifully painted pieces canvas. But canvas isn’t just for paintings anymore, why not turn your favorite photo from your wedding day into art for your home! They are perfect above mantels, in bedrooms, across those awkward walls (like we have) in main entrances, and even as gallery walls!
Speaking of gallery walls, point 2 is they come in ALL sizes! We can help you create some awesome pieces for your home by just knowing what you need. Only have room for a couple of 11X14′s no problem! Do want to go big and fill that giant space behind your bed? The bigger the better! Don’t get all frazzled by the numbers and how many and what do I do!! We’re here to help you with that and we won’t just be creating anything for you, we want something you’re going to love forever, or at least until the babes come along and you need a totally different type of canvas!
Another point is that they are pretty cool! In the above photo you can kind of see they have a way more unique texture then just a print would have. And they have no glare! This photo was taken in the middle of the day, facing a window and the beauty of the photo still shines through. With our gallery wall of frames we find that at certain times of the day it looks awesome… like at night. But sometimes we can’t see a single photo because of some really bad sun glare from our giant windows. These canvas’ hang opposite a south facing window, stay in great condition, and we can bask in their beauty all the time. Canvas can be put anywhere and everywhere in your home. They are slightly more dynamic then a print in a frame because they sit off the wall and have nothing holding the photo back.
Just like you would sit and stare at a canvas in an art gallery, you can sit and stare at these too! They are also really durable, we offer the best quality in canvas, tested and tried many places and landed on some pretty unique options. We would love to have you over to touch, feel, and see them in real life! Because we think they are pretty awesome!
We couldn’t really talk the talk without walking the walk now could we. We’ve had this empty wall in our dining room since we moved in, just waiting for the perfect canvas. Our beautiful friend Erin Walker of Erin Walker Photography has done our photos for the past two years and we finally decided on the perfect photo for our sad and empty wall. We love canvas so much, we just had to get one… well I guess two (as you can see, you can do some REALLY neat things with canvas too that wouldn’t work at all as a framed photo.) just for us and we love it to pieces. It’s a beautiful addition to our home!
I could go on and on and on about our love of real product filling up your home, but we’ll save that for over coffee! Have questions about canvas? Drop us a line by email or leave some comments, we love to hear from you!
Oh and all this canvas talk has reminded me…check out one we have featured at the Steeps teahouse in Old Glenora just off 124st. We have one of Christy and Matt, a gorgeous couple from last June, hanging there this month with a bunch of other amazing local photographers. (See our instagram version below) It is a great way to see what you think about canvas for your home, or you can come to ours and check them out too! (Just maybe let us know first.)
Ahhh, winter engagement sessions. So beautiful and so different for us as most couples love to get their photos taken in the spring or summer (don’t get me wrong, we love it too!) But there is just something about a beautiful winter afternoon in Edmonton that can’t be beat. Especially on a Saturday afternoon downtown outside the gorgeous Yellowhead Brewery, it was so quiet and peaceful and not TOO cold! (Although Rebecca and Jereme may beg to differ.)
This engagement session has been long awaited for us and we are so excited to share it with you! We have been anxiously waiting this January wedding since we met Rebecca and her mom in July. Rebecca and Jereme are getting married this very Friday so we had to get this engagement session in quick, that nasty week of -30 did not help! After one cancellation we finally had a “balmy” -15 day, as these two love birds just flew in from their home in Taiwan at the end of December!
We are so excited for their wedding on Friday, but for now a few sneaks at their downtown engagement session!
