Families | Sherwood Park Photographers

Every now and again we get an email or comment saying “Hey, do ya’ll shoot families” Now this is always something photographers chuckle about. As I always am tempted to reply, “Why yes we shoot families… with our cameras!” (Hardy har har) But many of our followers and lovely couples don’t actually know that “YES we do photograph family photo sessions” Every once in a while we venture out with some cute kids, glowing pregnant ladies, or families of any age (adult children are the best for a ¬†really great session) and snap some pictures for you to remember forever.

“Wait, so you do family sessions?!” Yes, yes, yes. Well, actually to be more specific I (Eee) do take care of those family sessions on my own, but I love them. They are such a different type of fun then weddings and I take on a select few every year. It’s not only a great way to stay creative, but its also really personal as I do believe in getting photos done every one to two years for ourselves, so why wouldn’t you come back to your awesome wedding photographer a few years later when you’re starting your family right? We love to capture your life and give you photos you can treasure forever more, to watch your family grow!

“Soooo, your site is all weddings… where’s the family stuff?” Right here! In this post! We’re working on adding a family/portrait portion to our site but for now, we honestly have been catching up on tv seasons and enjoying each others company to finish out the wedding season… so it may come. One day.

So for now, please enjoy some of the lovely photos from a few sessions we had this year that were never seen! And please, if you’re looking for your own Sherwood Park Photography or anywhere in the Edmonton area, please email us! I’d love to capture some memories for you!

Winter is here, but let us know if you are looking for you own Sherwood Park Photography or Edmonton Photography session today!

Sophia — Sherwood Park Family Photographers

What a darling morning we spent with Sophia and her family creating a Christmas card for them to send out over the holidays. A few weeks back, their house was already decked out in Christmas time fun (which made me move a little faster on getting ours out because of all the cheer and fun we had there!) and Sophia was a doll and posing expert! It made us all laugh and giggle when she would strike her model pose and boy, did she have it down pat for sure.

Between getting cookies from Santa, hanging ornaments on the tree, and pretending to have so much fun on a white throw blanket we got a bunch of great adorable Christmas themed pictures for them, here are our favorites!

We love the wonder of Christmas! This is our last photo session before Christmas, so be sure to stay tuned for all our Christmas break festivities. We are contemplating a few engagements over the holidays (since it’s stayed warm and lovely in Edmonton this year) so keep watching. For now, enjoy Sophia Christmas excitement, and we wish you all a very happy holidays and Christmas season!!

Don’t forget, that special fitness guru in your life needs a 2012 calendar, stop by any of our participating yoga studios or lululemon’s for our Yoga Calendar! We promise it won’t disappoint! $20 to an amazing local charity, free yoga, and makes a great gift! Pick one up today.

Shawn's 18 — Edmonton Portrait Photographers

It seems to be the trend that we are photographing all these grad’s and their families. Shawn is a great friend of mine and I cannot believe he is now 18 years old. We counted up the years and not getting to sentimental on you all, but we’ve known each other and been very good friends for about 8 of those 18 years! It’s great to have friends like that.

Elyse, someone I’ve known for a few years also, asked me to drive out to do this photo shoot for Shawn for his birthday as a surprise and I couldn’t have been more happy to do so! (And the surprise element made it so exciting.) So on the lovely Thanksgiving weekend, I headed out to Pigeon Lake, AB where Shawn and his family spend the weekend. It was a gorgeous fall day, Elyse hid me in the woods and the pictures tell the rest of the story…

This place was the epitome of Autumn, the colours were fantastic and there were so many leaves!

The premise of this shoot was somewhat similar to one we did together way back when in the cold wintertime when I asked Elyse and Shawn to be models for me as I practiced photographing people. They were a blast, so I was tickled to be able to do this again and give them the shoot they really deserved! (Plus they are amazing models and gorgeous people!)

We ended the day with a family shoot with the rest of Shawn’s wonderful family. They were all such great sports I figured a leaf fight was in order! Thank you Irelands and Elyse for the most beautiful day out at the lake. And to my Shawners, you will always hold a special and dramatic place in my heart. Thanks for being a great friend, happy 18th birthday. (Drinks are on me next time!)
